Triple filter test
In ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem.
One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said, "Do you know what I just heard about your friend?"
"Hold on a minute," Socrates replied.
"Before telling me anything I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."
"Triple Filter Test?"
"That's right," Socrates continued.
"Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to say. That's why I call it the Triple Filter Test. The first filter is TRUTH. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"
"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and..."
"All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second filter, the filter of GOODNESS. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?"
"No, on the contrary..."
"So," Socrates continued, "You want to tell me something bad about him, but you're not certain it's true. You may still pass the test though, because there's one filter left - the filter of USEFULNESS. Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?"
"No, not really."
"Well," concluded Socrates, "If what you want to tell me is neither TRUE nor GOOD nor even USEFUL, why tell it to me at all?"
This is why Socrates was a great philosopher & held in such high esteem. Use this Triple Filter Test each time you hear loose talk about any of your dear friends. Always spend some time to verify what you hear from others; do not drive straight to conclusions. Give your friends some time to explain. Friendship is after all built on trust.

I'll be your love
There is a japanese version of this song...intro-ed to me by Shane...I didn't know that Yoshiki was the pianist...I should have guessed it right? In anyways, this is the english version of the song...I prefer this 'cause at least I can follow the lyrics and sing with it...lol...enjoy...=)
Here's the lyrics...
I’ll be your love
I’ll never make you feel, feel alone
If yesterday, blindfolds your eyes
I’ll bring you tomorrow
There’s a time, you feel like you’re lost
Feel the night will never end, through the daybreak
It’s hard to hold on, but there is tomorrow
Brings you to your senses, as the sun will make it’s way
You’ll make it there to the place
Where reality and dreams and love will be together
I’ll keep the light from fading
If the clouds blind your way and the wind sways your faith
I’ll be your love, I’ll be your light
I’ll never make you feel, feel alone
If yesterday, blindfolds your eyes
I’ll bring you tomorrow
Let me see you smile
Don’t you cry over the past, some days might be gray and dreary
Not easy to leave, to leave it behind
'Til the rain stops in silence, I’ll be there to hold your heart
I’ll be with you
'Til you find the reason for love
We take it for granted
We’ll keep the time from fading 'cause the world is here to stay
Your hope is deeper than pain
I’ll be your love, I’ll be your light
I’ll never make you feel, feel alone
If yesterday, blindfolds your eyes
I’ll bring you tomorrow
If you would believe
Believe in the world
A vision of love
And the strength inside your heart
You’ll find a way
I’ll be your love, I’ll be your light
I’ll never make you feel, feel alone
If yesterday, blindfolds your eyes
I’ll bring you tomorrow
I’ll be your love, I’ll be your light
I’ll never make you feel, feel alone

forever love?
I really don't know if the problem lies with me or not...
what can I do to not make it bother me so much?
why is it that it always affects me so much?
what can I do to make myself not care about it?
did I care about it too much?
or was it because you didn't seem to care as much?
am I asking for too much?
or was it because you weren't able to give me as much as what I want?
was it because you don't understand me enough?
or was it because the other way round?
was it because the time we spent together is not enough?
was it because I'm just too free?
or was it because you're just always so busy?
was it because I think too much?
or was it because you think too little about us?
am I being very unreasonable?
or am I just feeling very insecure?
was it meant to last?
should it even start in the first place?
forever love?
will it ever happen?
or was it because I'm not meant to have any happiness, to begin with?
I tried not to think much about it...but I just can't help it...

I like to be silly...
I like to be told that I'm silly when I'm silly...
Perhaps I just love to stay away from the complicated adult world and be oblivious to those surroundings...
Perhaps that's just me... the silly me... =)

aim
Just a short blog today...have being recently very addicted to X Japan's songs...thought of asking my bf to look out for their 'last live' concert's dvd over at Taiwan...'cause I think it would be cheaper over there...but then again, nvm lah...got chance then tell him...=)
The main 'problem' now is, the more I listen to their songs, the more I love them...and their songs have of a lot of piano parts...and the more it made me feel like playing piano...really really made me fall in love with their songs...and want to play like Yoshiki (the band's leader who plays both the piano and drums)...it somehow just tickles my inner desires for piano...made me had the urge to touch a piano again...shucks...I'm just going to go crazy over pianos again...when I still can't really afford it...=/
BUT, I had an aim...or rather, made up my mind...I aim to get a simple upright piano first, by the end of my second year in NIE...at least if my father scolds, I might be able to cover up by saying that I've saved the money through the monthly allowance from MOE...I know that my third and fourth year would be even busier than now, but I think, the more I need a piano to de-stress...music is always theraputic for me...
For some reasons which I don't know, I WANT to play X Japan's Forever Love the most...yes, not Wang Lee Hom's ('cause that is KK's job...lols)...that would be the challenge/target I give myself...
Shane says X Japan's Forever Love is much better than my lao gong's...oh well, since he's my lao gong, I will be more biased...hehe...but X Japan's really great...especially Yoshiki...even though he's already 44 yrs old...hehe...but I think he shakes his head too much...his shoulders too...lols...I don't like pianist who sits very still while playing the piano, but not when his movements are too extreme...and end up cracking bones in the neck...oh, and that was what happened to Yoshiki...and it's getting worse, now that he is aging...(even though I'm not really into any religion) but I still want to say, bless him...=)
If you ever love piano, watch those videos of Yoshiki playing the piano...he's really great...=))

piano dream
The piano in the video is Kawai's CR-40A...
So I did some 'research' and found it's little sister...
This is CR-30, difference only in width by 7cm...

Here's big sister, for which the price is as 'heavenly' as the piano... The price that I managed to find was 6.4 million yen... Which is around 99000 SGD... That excludes export/import fee, etc etc right? And I have no idea how accurate it is, because it was posted on some random website... But no matter what, this is what I'm gonna aim to get in my future house...
You might find it stupid to get such an expensive piano when there are tons cheaper outside, but to me, this is like a dream, that HAS TO BE fulfilled... At least, before I die... IF NOT, please burn me one made of paper with the same look... haha...
P.S. If my bf buys this for me, I'll marry him straight... LOLS... BUT, I know he's aiming to get a car... While I'm aiming to get this... =P
Final Fantasy VIII
Although this was not the actual song in FFVIII, but its still very romantic... Made me miss those days where I was playing this game...=)
